Malaysian Society for Traumatology and Emergency Medicine (MASTEM) in collaboration with Malaysian College of Emergency Physicians organized the 3rd International Clinical Conference on Emergency Medicine (ICCEM) at Putra World Trade Centre,Kuala Lumpur. The event will be held from 28th-30th May 2013. In conjunction with this conference, pre-conference workshops will be held on 26th and 27th May 2013. This international conference has been held annually since 2011. The Deputy Minister, YB Dato’ Sri Hilmi Yahya officiated the conference. The theme of the programme was “Total Quality Management in Clinical Pathway of Emergency and Trauma Services...A Work Process Transformation”. 612 participants from local and international countries took part in this conference. 50 exhibition booths were set up by relevant medical industries displaying latest equipments in Medical Industry.
ICCEM was a unique conference in which the programme content was made up of clinical cases submitted for presentation by clinicians throughout the Malaysia and neighbouring international countries. A total of 188 scientific papers from local and international presenters were presented under various categories. 33 oral presentations and103 poster presentations on clinical cases and research were be on display.The rest were presented in electronic form.
This conference was unique in that participants learn medical cases management in ‘experiential’ manner. Best clinical cases were selected from the whole of Malaysia as well as participating international countries and these were be presented with expert commentaries from carefully selected panel of experts. These cases were presented in the forms of team presentation, oral individual, poster, video, confession session and clinical dialogues on Emergency Medicine.
Authors of the best cases selected presented the papers and panel of experts will provide professional insights and pearls of wisdom which for the maximum benefit for participants. Best papers presented had also been honoured with attractive prizes.
